There are a lot of good reasons that I'm glad I got married, and this is one of them. My last name used to start with "H." Sorry Dad, but it was just not fun. And too angular, not curvy, like that beautiful B.
I thought it might be fun for you to see just how far reaching my obsession is.
I have one on my front door: (sorry 'bout the glare, the sun is out now, after a FOOT of snow)
I have one on my mantle:
I have one above my kitchen cabinets: (so sorry Nester, I know the ivy is BAD, BAD, BAD)
I have the whole name spelled out on this shelf, in blocks that belonged to my grandma. Yep, the same grandma.
And today, I made a new one. Because, you know, I don't have NEARLY enough. I found this plate in my cupboard.
See, I wasn't kiddin', I have LOTS of UGLY stuff. I got out the Modge Podge and some wrapping paper. And printed a lovely B from Microsoft Word, then cut it out with my craft knife. Now she looks like this on my dining room wall:

ReplyDeleteYour B is very pretty! I think you do love your B's.
ReplyDeleteI like all of your B things!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog today. Basnights' Lone Cedar Cafe is on the causeway between Nags Head and Manteo. It would be a pretty long drive from Corolla for dinner. Next door to it is "The Tale of the Whale" which is wonderful. I would go there over BLCC. I am very familiar with restaurants in the Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head area if you need suggestions. I've never stayed in Duck or north of Duck.
That's some clever initialing...you've given me some ideas! Linda

ReplyDeleteHi, I just ran across your blog (through a search for something else) and I'm just browsing around.
ReplyDeleteI love the big red "B" on your front door! I've been looking for a big letter like that for my own door, it's "P" which would hang almost as well as your "B."
Where did you get it?
I have a large beautiful steal B sitting on my shelf! A letter my husband brought home from work that was a template for an exterior sign and I love for no particular reason at all.
ReplyDeleteYour *b's* are very cute - I really like what you did with the plate, too! Have a great weekend :)
