“B” Mine

I love, love, love the letter “B.” Those of you who read yesterday’s post are thinking, “Oh no, not the B thing again.”

There are a lot of good reasons that I’m glad I got married, and this is one of them. My last name used to start with “H.” Sorry Dad, but it was just not fun.
And too angular, not curvy, like that beautiful B.
I thought it might be fun for you to see just how far reaching my obsession is.
I have one on my front door: (sorry ’bout the glare, the sun is out now, after a FOOT of snow)
I have one on my mantle:

I have one above my kitchen cabinets: (so sorry Nester, I know the ivy is BAD, BAD, BAD)

I have the whole name spelled out on this shelf, in blocks that belonged to my grandma. Yep, the same grandma.

And today, I made a new one. Because, you know, I don’t have NEARLY enough. I found this plate in my cupboard.

See, I wasn’t kiddin’, I have LOTS of UGLY stuff. I got out the Modge Podge and some wrapping paper. And printed a lovely B from Microsoft Word, then cut it out with my craft knife. Now she looks like this on my dining room wall:

  1. I like all of your B things!

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Basnights’ Lone Cedar Cafe is on the causeway between Nags Head and Manteo. It would be a pretty long drive from Corolla for dinner. Next door to it is “The Tale of the Whale” which is wonderful. I would go there over BLCC. I am very familiar with restaurants in the Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head area if you need suggestions. I’ve never stayed in Duck or north of Duck.

  2. You are so creative! I love how you transformed that plate. I think all of your B’s are great. Man, think how hard it would be if your letter was Q haha. I’m going to hop over to your other blog now. Kathy

  3. You are very creative – love what you did with the plate esp. I can’t look at things that way and imagine them as something else. I can copy good though!!

I have “faux” greenery on top of my cabinets too!! Makes them look better, to me!!

  4. Great job on the plate! Love it and will store that idea away for my own self! I went from S to K. Moving that far up in alphabetical order was only a dream in elementary school! :)

  5. I love the pride you show in your name — and your letter! And I’d never have thought of fixing up a plate like that. This is why I am not crafty :)

And thank you so much for coming to visit my blog on my SITS day. Today has been so much fun and so lovely to see the response and fun comments. I really appreciate it. I hope you enjoyed my blog and come back to visit soon!

  6. Hi, I just ran across your blog (through a search for something else) and I’m just browsing around.

I love the big red “B” on your front door! I’ve been looking for a big letter like that for my own door, it’s “P” which would hang almost as well as your “B.”

    Where did you get it?
