Got Pots?

Am I the only one that has a MESS like this behind her garage?

I'll be in SO much trouble for that, my husband thinks the garage is HIS.
If you don't have an unsightly pile of pots, now is a great time to find them. As folks get ready to plant their gardens, they are donating, selling or even discarding old pots.
While I think classic clay pots are, well, CLASSIC, they're kind of boring.
I like a little WHIMSY in my outdoor decor.
I could BUY cute pots...What???
Okay, I admit it, I did actually buy pots, just not cute ones. I found THESE at the Dollar Tree today.

No offense to the DOLLAR TREE, which I heart, but EEEWWWW!
I'm not going to show you what my plans are for these pots, because they might show up HERE:

Just click on Lindsay's button in the right sidebar for details, entries are due Monday!

Last year, I bought two plain pots for my front porch at an awesome garage sale. Now they look like this:

I used a spongey stencil brush to make the polka dots.

Soon, I'll add red geraniums, sigh. Hopefully very soon.

Garden whimsy doesn't have to come from spray paint. Oh my gosh, I can't believe I said that. Doesn't all that is good come from spray paint?

This is/was my herb garden. My fourteen year old daughter got tired of being pulled around in the wagon, so we drilled holes in the bottom for drainage, set in the pots and filled in around them with landscape rocks. This year I'm going to add chalkboard paint labels to the pots.

Come on everybody, add some PANACHE to your POTS!

Have a great weekend, stop back tomorrow for Saturday Shout-Outs, advice you don't want to miss ( it's not from me, so it should be GOOD!)!

Love the dot pots! I'll have to add that to my list of things to do.
I saw the same ugly pots at the Dollar Tree. I didn't even think about adding my own touch to them.
I just stocked up on the rust color ones instead.

So, what kind of paint should I use to paint the pots? I'm looking to do pots in the front this year and focus on cleaning up the landscape. I also want to add pots to my kitchen cabinets and I would like to do this a cheaply as possible. Can you help me?

I'd think you'd get tired of pulling a 14 YO around in the wagon ;D

I love what you did with the pots at your front door.
I can't believe that your 14 year old doesn't like to be pulled in the wagon anymore...why do they have to grow up?
Now you have me thinking that I too need to find some terracotta pots.
I will add them to my list!
Have a great weekend!

I love painting pots. I haven't done it since I moved here from Australia through for some reason but I have found my front yard is baron and everything i plant in there dies so I am going with pots this year.

I had painted ceramic pots at my wedding as part of the wedding decor, it was cheap, customised and everyone loved them

Ok, you had me at the polka dots! Those pots are ADORABLE! I can't wait to see those lovely geraniums in them soon. I'm trying to send some spring your way, but it doesn't seem to be working ...sorry friend!

After 16 years of living in Portland, Oregon, I finally realize that spring is too soon to get into gardening. Nope, not going there! But come June or maybe July, I'm there!

Your polka dot pots look great! We live in a townhouse. I can't wait to get a house so I can decorate the yard. I am coming back to see what you did to those other pots :-)

You are so funny. Love the black and white pots. You're totally correct of course. WE all have stamps and stuff that would look great on a pot. I'll hae to keep this in mind when (if) we ever get warm enough weather to plant.
