Trash to Treasure Tuesday--Practice Makes Perfect?

Welcome to Trash to Treasure Tuesday.

The one where I try to prove that I'm not a complete idiot. I said try, people, I'm not promising anything.

Remember this tray?

Yeah, I'm showing you my MISTAKE again, so that even MORE people can see it. I'm savvy like that. This LESS THAN PERFECT treasure found a home on top of the fridge, where the imperfections don't show as much. It looks pretty good up there.

A couple of you wonderful readers suggested that I try a tray with SQUARE edges next. I'm not sure why I didn't try that first, 'cuz I already had this:

Shiny and green? Come on, who designs this stuff?

I like to think I can LEARN from my mistakes, so this time I stopped after decoupaging the flat part. After two coats of Heirloom White, of course.

Here's the AFTER:

Better, huh? I'm going to put this on my bathroom counter. It will hold all of the pretty containers I'm looking for to hold all of my "essentials." THEN, I'll only have one thing to move when I clean. Wow. pretty and practical. Cool.

Let's see those projects! Link up, and remember to link back to REINVENTED in your post!

  12. The tray looks great and your so right- a tray to hold all the containers on the vanity would make cleaning so much easier. So glad you thought of that because I never would have, but I am certainly gonna copy!
