Weekend Treasures

Welcome visitors from Kennesha’s Junk Party! I’m linking this post of some of my most fabulous finds! Enjoy the BEFORES, the AFTERS are coming soon!

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, I sure did. My sons and I hit some garage sales and the Goodwill store on Saturday morning, and we found some great stuff.

Yeah, I said my sons. My boys LOVE the garage sales, and my twelve year old is a new Goodwill convert. Despite the fact that he was just a little EMBARASSED by the scene I made when I found THIS:

We were delivering our donations to the backdoor of the store when I saw this fab bench sitting there waiting for her trip to the front. Let’s just say that no one else had a chance. I paid $4.99 for this, and it will be perfect at the foot of our bed. After a coat of paint and some new fabric, of course. WOOHOO!!!

I found some great stuff at the garage sales too.

This is a shelf, that I somehow took a sideways picture of. I love the “waves”. Ironically, this was the same price as the bench, but at least it doesn’t need “REINVENTED!”

I love these wooden pears, and for now they’ve found a home on top of the kitchen cabinets. I have a feeling they’ll travel around the house with the seasons.

8×10 frames still in the packages! These will get a coat of black spray paint, then probably photos. My kids have so many photos of their sports and activities, I’m always looking for wall frames to display them. I just look for wood frames, then paint them all the same color, there’s no need to buy NEW frames!

These cute little babies are just crying out for an updated decoupage treatment.

My stash of projects has seriously grown after this weekend, and I couldn’t be more excited! Now I need to get to work so that I can share the “AFTERS” with y’all!

  1. Great finds! It’s so funny, I found a great bench for the foot of my bed this weekend too! You got yours for a better price though, mine was a whopping $15, lol.

  2. Oh man, I am jealous! I always love getting great frames, and that bench is just awesome!! Can’t wait to see what you do with everything.

  3. Great finds! My bargain post was up today, too. I didn’t get a bench for 4.99 (jealous!) but I did get a gorgeous lamp for my mom for $5. Not too shabby :)

Oh. And I pulled a piece of furniture out of someone’s trash. I’m cool like that.

  4. Wow, great finds! That bench probably would have been $12-20 here at our Goodwill, I need to remember to look for one so I can finally get our custom made toybox out of our bedroom! :)
I love your ideas! Thanks for sharing!

  5. I don’t know how heavy that bench is, but I would’ve picked it up and ran with it! What a great deal! That’s so nice that your sons enjoy garage saling with you–enjoy it while it lasts!

  6. I’ve often wished they would let me wander around in the backroom at Goodwill so I could have first crack at everything. They had a help wanted sign posted today and I gave it some serious consideration LOL!

Really wonderful finds! I’ve actually been looking for some large pears like that at Goodwill…I only need one~smile!

    Wow really great finds.
Oh I love the shelf with the waves so great for summer. It really would be so cute in a beach cottage .
    The pears are so pretty.
I could go on and on I am so impressed with all the wonderful beautiful treasures you have found.
    Have a fantastic week.

  8. Kimm, I don’t know how GW comes up w/prices on their items. Some days they are major bargains and the next time they are unreasonably high priced. You made out big-time!! :-) Sue

  9. Kimm: Hey – I found the same “wavy” shelf at GW this weekend! My mom thought it could be used as a toilet tank tray if turned upside down . . . think I’m gonna use it as a shelf though in my guest room! Patti

  10. Score on the bench! I’m ready for to hit up some garage sales, but so far the weekends haven’t allowed us to yet. We’re actually having our own garage sale this weekend with friends. Time to clear out more space for more stuff, right!?

  11. That bench is a steal at $4.99! I can’t wait to see what you do with it (no pressure). That’s so cool that your boys like to thrift shop with you, my 11 yr. old DS hates shopping with a passion and taking him with me would be torture for both of us.

  12. Ok, I am completely jealous of that bench!! Find of the year!!! I have been searching high and low for something like that for my entryway…cheapest one I have found is 200.00!! I absolutely love it!
