Beachy Beauties

Welcome to Trash to Treasure Tuesday, the day where we ALL get to share our trashy makeover projects.

Yesterday I showed you the beachy paintings I found at last Saturday's garage sales. I found them at two separate sales, and paid six dollars for both. Last night I made a quick trip to Home Depot for more Heirloom White spray paint (how did I let myself run out?), and lightened up the frames to fit with my plan for the powder room.

Here they are now.

BE. STILL. MY. HEART. Now I REALLY love this one.

This one is DEFINITELY growing on me. The painted frame helps A LOT.

I think I've procrastinated long enough, and painted everything BUT the walls. Next up comes primer over that red. Have you read Lindsay's article on primer? Should help a lot.

Link up those projects everyone! I can't wait to "STEAL" your ideas (while giving you full credit and a hug, of course)!

  1. I love those! It is amazing how a little paint can totally change the look of something. Perfect! I don't have anything thrifty to show this week...maybe I will next week? Here's hoping! :)

  7. Wahoo, I finally got on your site! I guess lowering the privacy setting did the trick! I love the Art you found, and the beach scene looks fabulous with the light frame...Great job! Can't wait to see the powder room finished!

Oh my gosh ,now I love the second one better :)
I have been known to change my mind quite frequently.
I must be off now to find something to paint .
My son actually bought me a five gallon bucket of White Paint to play with .
I kept asking for the left over stuff from their remodeling jobs so He and his boss gave me a 5 gallon bucket of heirloom white paint for my 50th birthday.Pretty cute .
Plus son gave me a $50.00 gift card for Lowes .
I am waiting for fall to get here if I can hold out ,you keep inspiring me every week with so many things to reinvent :)
    Blessings to you and yours.
    Hugs
    Happy Trails

  11. YEEEEESSS! I am back on the Reinvented bandwagon! I have not been able to access your site for like 2 weeks, but today, miraculously I can. Yippee! Love the beachy pictures. I know what you mean about needing to lighten things up. My chocolate brown living room is starting to grate on my nerves and bring me down after 2 short years. I have big plans to lighten it up in the next few weeks! Just not looking forward to painting...UGH!

  15. Wow! What a difference a can of spray paint can make. Those paintings look fab! I'll have to check out the heirloom white.

And while I like the red in the bathroom, I totally understand about the uneven-ness of red paint. We had the same issue. I think the new color scheme will be great.

  19. YAY!!!!! Your site is working for me again. I've been stuck in google reader and unable to participate. *sadness*

Those frames look tons better. My mom had me spray paint the frame of an old print for her (she claims she can't spray paint) and it really updated it enough so she could put it in her living room. I really heart spray paint. :)
