If you've not tried CHALKBOARD CONTACT PAPER, then, girls, you're missin' out. I saw this product originally on the Happy Nester and I couldn't wait to try it. I found mine at www.discountschoolsupply.com for $5.99.
I still love my chalkboard paint, and I don't think that quart will EVER run out, so I'm sure I'll find plenty of times when only paint will do.
BUT...for small, quick projects like THIS:
The edges don't even have to be perfect, it looks more like paint if they're not!!
(that's the excuse I came up with that worked for me, so I'm stickin' with it)
This stuff is smooth as silk to write on.
I even made some luminaries for our Ohio State vs. USC game party Saturday night.
We've had spaghetti every night this week. I needed the jars.
See the sand and tealights? Must have candles, it's a night game.
Have a great weekend everyone! Saturday night is our party, on Sunday I turn 42 (yikes!), and next week I REALLY WILL start painting the powder room. See ya then!
By the way, I'm a little (okay a lot) late, but I'm linking up to Kimba's DIY party. Head over there now!

I recently made my own chalkboard contact paper (but only because I didn't know I could buy it until the project was nearly complete!) to label my pantry! Here's my post about it:

I'd really like some more and don't feel like making it this time! Did you find yours in a store or did you order it?
Cute indeed... Go BUCKS! We'll be down there for the game on Saturday, but I'll have to keep your idea in mind for another game!

Your jars look great.
OK. This stuff looks awesome and I can say I've seen people highlight chalkboard paper - but not in a contact roll like this. I'm wondering - what's the price like on it?
ReplyDeleteYour candle holders are really cute. So, when's the Ohio vs. Michigan game? THAT'S the big one.
This is so neat. Thanks for sharing. I am so in love with your blog!!

Chalk board contact paper - brillant! And something little kids can help you with without spilling or wearing a lot of chalkboard paint (hey, it's pricey I want more of it on the project than the kid!)
ReplyDeleteI just ordered BROWN chalkboard paint for the drawers on my daughter's dresser but I need some of this for other projects. I can't wait!! I've already got ideas swirling in my head.
ReplyDeleteCute CUTE cute!!! Love the idea of using contact paper instead of taping (ick!) and painting. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, I didn't know such a thing existed but I've certainly saved enough food jars to really need some!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Love chalkboard paint and had no idea this product was an option!

ReplyDeleteThose jars with the tea lights--now that is just brilliant. Luminaries that can change as needed. Excellent!

ReplyDeleteI've been saving spaghetti jars as well, for a different project.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to come by to touch base. My blog has been growing so rapidly I haven't had time to come for visits. I miss all of my blog friends and needed to stop in just to say hi and invite you to come for a visit as well.
