Trash to Treasure–Creative Candle Displays

Good morning. I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day holiday weekend. Labor Day weekend is one of my favorites, mostly because it signals the beginning of fall, MY FAVORITE SEASON, and college football, MY FAVORITE SPECTATOR SPORT.

Don’t worry, I’m not planning to convert this blog to an ESPN affiliate, I have nothing to add to the analysis, I just like to watch.
While I’m decorating the house. I’m a girl, after all.
One of my favorite parts of fall is the cooler, crisper weather, and the coziness that seeps into my decorating choices. I love to use richer colors, more pillows and cozy throws, more texture, and CANDLES.

Today I have a few pictures of candle display ideas using items you may already have. See that chandelier up there? It was made with the metal bands from an old barrel, and baby food jars. Isn’t that cool? If only I had a covered porch, that would be fabulous outside.

This photo from Pottery Barn illustrates that you can use almost anything to display your candles and add the flicker of candlelight to your table. Bottles, jars, and pillars, oh my.

Got seldom used wine glasses, or champagne flutes? “Nuff” said.

Speaking of using ANYTHING to display your candles… a muffin tin? These are plentiful at the thrift stores. You could paint one, or leave it the silvery gray color. This one is perfect for Christmas, but what about shells, or seeds, or fruit with the candles?

Thanks for visiting Trash to Treasure Tuesday! If you’ve got more ideas for displaying candles, leave them in the comments or link up a post!

Now link up those Trash to Treasure projects, whether they involve candles or not! Can’t wait to see them! (as always, please be sure to link back to REINVENTED in your posts!)

  1. I spent my weekend doing some household painting projects (front door) while watching TV too. I was catching up on the episodes of Design Star I had missed instead of Football though. Which I think might be a crime in our city. Don’t tell, OK?

  2. Love the wine glasses!!! I am proud to say that I have actually used a muffin tin to put little candles in. ;) I love inspiration photos like these. :)

My 2nd Decorating Dilemmas Party is going up tonight/tomorrow. (I’ll post it after 10-ET tonight) I hope you might be able to stop by if you have anything to share (dilemma or solution!). There is a giveaway for partygoers. ;)

  3. I LOVE the upside down wine flutes for candle holders!

You are one of the first people I found who inspired me to start taking matters into my own hands as far as decorating. I always thought I had to wait until I could “afford it” to really make my home how I wanted.

Now thanks to you and others, I’ve been inspired to slowly start changing things around my house a little at a time.

I posted about some projects today that I think would make you proud!
