Trash to Treasure Tuesday

Good Tuesday Morning everyone!  I’m so excited to see all  of your fabulous projects today.

Want to know why?

Because your projects are going to be the ONLY ONES today.

I got nothin’.

Not even a good excuse.  Except that I started a new full time job a few weeks ago, and this working full time thing has turned my life UPSIDE DOWN.   I looove the job, it’s one I’ve always wanted to have, but I’m having a little trouble getting everything done.

Got any advice for me?

Seriously, if you do, please leave it in the comments.  I know there are many of you that are experts at this, and I’m kind of embarrassed that I’m not, so PLEASE HELP.  :)

AND link up those awesome projects so that we can all be inspired!  Thanks!

  1. So fun this week. Except I meant to put spring wreaths in the title, not crockpot recipe.Where did that come from? I think I should go back to sleep and wake up again!

  2. hey Kimm!

I regret I didn’t take a “Before” picture. You should have seen this little bench. It looked like something that someone found in the dump, except this little bench had all it’s paint loved off… kind of like the velveteen rabbit.

  3. It just takes time to adjust. I work full time, married with a child. Almost all of my projects, decorating, shopping is done on the weekends.

  4. Congratulations on your job! I’m sure, if you give it a little time, a new daily rhythm will emerge and you’ll relax into it! I’ll say a prayer for you! Thanks for hosting your great party!

  5. Thanks for hosting! oh and my measly advice, you can only do what you can do… And don’t beat your self up if you don’t get that craft project done…we’re not going anywhere… I also work full time, 2 kids (unless you count the hubby) so yeah, just go with the flow :)
Oh and have a great day!

  6. Craft projects will always be there. If we rush them, it just isn’t as much fun! No big deal. We can’t do it all! : )

Thanks for hosting a fun party!

  7. I have to go back up and visit all the goodies in the awesome link list but I had to come and tell you what helped me the most when I was working with small children. Stop trying to do it all, period. If the kids are fed & clean, everyone has clothes to wear, and nothing is growing in the shower or the sink…you’re doing fine. :) Really though, when you look back years from now will you remember how clean the kitchen floor was or will you remember the time spent with family. Yea, that’s what I thought. Oh, and as for cooking…I learned to make easy meals on the nights I work so we still eat well (and healthy) without feeling like I have to slave in the kitchen for hours after working all day. Buy a couple of roasted chicken at the supermarket and refrigerate…there is soooo much you can do with roasted chicken.

I guess what I’m saying is not to push yourself. Nothing will fall apart if you prioritize and just do that which is most important. *Hugs*

    Peace & Love,
    ~Barb~

  8. My advice?

    1. Let the little stuff go.

    2. Get yourself a cleaning service and enjoy your time with your family.

    3. Sandwiches. It’s what’s for dinner.

  9. I agree with the cleaning service- and stock up on some good crock pot recipes! I also like to do laundry one load a day so you are not overwhelmed with five loads all at once. Congrats on the new job!!!

  10. Thanks for hosting! I love to see what everyone else has been up to this week! BTW, you have a perfectly good excuse for not having a project to share today :) Don’t be so hard on yourself, let us do all the work for you!

  11. hi Kimm,
sorry I don’t have before pics..this was before I started blogging. :) Hey, I have a giveaway if you wanna put your name in the hat! :)
As far as working and getting everything done…just do the stuff that makes you truly happy…Martha Washington’s house is still dusty! At the end of our lives, I don’t think any of us will say, “Gee, I wish I’d cleaned more!” :) If you can afford the cleaning service, go for it..if not…kids are great for that stuff too. I have both my kids cleaning this morning…after all, they’re the ones that make most of the messes! lol Socks on hands makes for great dusters! :-D Congrats on the job and just enjoy life.
    Have a blessed day
    Melissa

  12. hi!
i misunderstood the system and posted two links, an old one and the recent.
please, erase link nr 43, that’s the old
and i have your lonk in my blog

    thanks

  13. I think a full time job excuses you from a lot of little things. It’s good to hear you like your job and as far as the other things, it seems like we eventually find time to do the things we love so hopefully you’ll settle into a routine that works for you soon! Thanks for hosting the party even though you’re busy!
    ☺ Celeste

  14. Hi! I work full time, volunteer part time, and do what needs to be done in between. My advice? Make sure you carve out “you” time. I can’t afford a cleaning service, so I just try to pick up before going to bed so things aren’t a disaster in the morning. I try to always go to bed with a clean kitchen at least. :-)

  15. Congrats on your job! Leave some time for yourself so you can be better for the people around you. Although I think Camie’s comment on Chocolate would work too. Thanks for another awesome party.

  16. Congrats on your new job! Just hang in there…it always takes a bit before you get into the swing of things when your routine is changed.
    Thanks for hosting! :o)

  17. Hi!
You’ll be fine, just give it some time, and try to prioritize: you, family, home, work, and then the blog somewhere at the end of the list…this is still a great place to come hang out!! Don’t be too hard on yourself. Thanks for hosting the party!
    XO

  18. Hello! Thanks for hosting! Hope you are having a great week. Congratulations on your new job. I’m sure you’ll fall into a routine shortly. That’s a lot to take on {take care of yourself} =)

  19. After 4 years & two babies/working full time I have finally found something that makes me go a little less crazy, lol. I do all my errands on lunch so that I can spend time with my family in the evenings. You can get a TON of stuff done in an hours time. Good luck!!!!!

  20. I just found your blog for the first time and am so excited. I’ve linked a fun mannequin redo project that I’ve just recently finished and would like to share. Carololina the mannequin was quite ugly when I purchased her, but now she’s quite wonderful and I’m so pleased with the results. Thanks for the opportunity and good luck with your new job.
    Gretchen

  21. I totally understand. You have to be in the project groove. Then all the planets have to align and your family has to cooperate. It is hard to have the perfect circumstances fro project completion. Good luck!

  22. You’re being too hard on yourself. Life adjustments take time. Everything will fall in place soon. Until then, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale……Thanks for hosting.
