Oh, yeah, that’s what this ‘ole blog’s about, so I’m supposed to have an idea.
Well…I DO!
Pick up your favorite catalog. You know the one. The one that has amazingly cool stuff at amazingly high prices.
And you think…”Self, is there a way to update my room, add some color and a little of this expensive style, and only spend about $30????
Of course there is. Just buy ONE YARD OF FABRIC.
So that’s what I did. I ordered ONE YARD of beautiful fabric from said catalog, and used it to add some fantastic color and pattern to my foyer.
BEFORE
AFTER (fabric stapled over a clearance canvas)
I am LOVING this fabric,(not loving the doorbell thingy). It has all of the warm colors that I love and LOTS of red. AND a touch of blue. AND a wonderful subtle texture. It really warms up my mostly black and cream foyer, and that’s just the look I was going for.
I still need something for the ledge, but apparently that’s a post for another day.
I also framed a smaller piece and added it to my still not finished frame wall.
O.B.V.I.O.U.S.L.Y. still a work in progress. Leave it to me to keep it hideously and embarrassingly REAL around here.
I have enough fabric left to make a pillow for my grandma’s chair by the front door.
What “off the wall”, or maybe actually “on the wall” ideas for fabric do you have to share?

The fabric you chose looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of framing fabric! I especially love it when it's matted out to look like a piece of artwork. Beautiful!
