Our Christmas, Unwrapped

Happy December 27th!  I hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas.  Ours was calm and quiet, (except for the Guitar Hero part), and included spectacular performances by our church choir. Just the way I like it.

Did Santa fulfill your Christmas wishes?    I may be the odd one here, but I LOVE getting home stuff for Christmas, even appliances.  Some of my favorite past presents are my Dyson vacuum and my food processor.   I’m perfectly pleased with practical gifts.

This year I received this rug for our newly painted den
Christmas 2012 019

It’s an Indoor/Outdoor rug from Ballard Designs.  Very durable and hugely practical and I love me some chevron.  It can be cleaned with soap, a scrub brush and a hose, for pete’s sake!  Perfect.   I have more ideas for the new look in this room, so I’ll keep you posted as it evolves.

I have wanted one of these tiered basket thingies for awhile, but could never justify the price.  Until it showed up as a Décor Steal, and I very slyly forwarded that e-mail to Santa.

I also received a new waffle maker.  It is our tradition to have homemade waffles on Christmas morning (and many other mornings throughout the year), so I’ve worn out two waffle makers and was in need of a new one.

And my first cast iron skillet, some silicone spoons, and cute pajamas.

What did Santa bring you?

  1. I am so with you on practical and home items. You burn through waffle makers the way I tear up mixers. I am still hinting for a stand mixer. Sigh
