Good morning everyone, and Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I had a fabulous time in Nashville at the Origami Owl Training event/girls weekend. Until yesterday, when I was stranded in Chicago at O’Hare for 11 hours and didn’t get home until midnight. Ugh.
This project was born out of necessity. Aren’t those the best kind? Necessity turned cute. Yeah.
We have a pretty average size kitchen, and an above average size family. Space is sometimes at a premium, so I wanted to add some stools to our island counter for some more eating space.
I didn’t want anything big and space sucking, do ya know what I mean? For us, this meant simple stools with no backs to “break up the sight lines.” (Ha, I laugh at myself when I use words I hear on HGTV)
So, you’ve seen stools like this at discount stores, right? This one’s from Target. They cost around $20-30 dollars. In the interest of full disclosure, I gotta tell you that I didn’t actually buy mine, they were given to us. And ours are cuter than this, but I forgot to take a before picture, so I had to find a similar option. K? K.
Now these are simple all right, which is what we needed, but the style didn’t work for my cottage/farmhouse dreams.
So I coated them with spray primer and then some Rustoleum Colonial Red.
I ordered some vinyl from The House of Smith’s and added it to the seats, sealed with some poly for protection.
I guess I forgot to take a close up of No. 2. But you get the idea.
Here they are all lined up and adding some farmhouse cute to our kitchen.
Have a great day!
