Upcycled Mug Planter

Hello there!   I’m so glad you’re here.

You’ve got to see what I made.  :)

So…I was cleaning out my cupboards, and I was ready to donate about 5 old and ugly coffee mugs.

My husband, aka the engineer, challenged me to upcycle one mug into something cool.

Hmmm…

I upcycled that there ugly  mug in to a planter!

Hold your applause, I need to tell you how I did it.  (insert winky face here)

Pay attention, it was really complicated.

Step One:  spray paint the mug any color your want and let dry completely.  I chose Rustoleum’s Heirloom White.

Step Two:  Place letter stickers of your choice on the mug.

Step Three:  Swipe some gold craft paint over the letters.  You could tape off the area you want painted, but I was going for a “painterly” look.

Step Four:  After the gold paint is completely dry, remove the letter stickers.  Done!

Add a pretty little flower, and you’ve got a touch of spring for your house, or as a gift for a friend.  These would also be cute for herbs on the windowsill.

Thanks so much for visiting!  If you like this project, I would love for you to share it!

Have a great week!
