I am so excited about today’s post. Today is my first entry in Themed Makeover Day.
This awesome DIY party is hosted by a group of fabulous bloggers, and I am totally psyched to join them.
Just don’t tell them I’m crazy, k? I want to get a few projects under my belt before they catch on…
So…this month’s theme is Pottery Barn Inspired.
I do A LOT of browsing on the PB site, so it didn’t take me too long to choose a piece of furniture to hack.
I love the hammered look of this metal outdoor table.
AND, we kind of need a small table for our front porch, so that sealed the deal.
I considered a lot of options for re-creating this look, and settled on these two pieces from Walmart.
A bucket, and a container meant to be the base for a beverage station. $16 for both.
These containers weren’t quite rustic enough for me, so I used a little craft paint in Gunmetal to age the finish.
I just lightly brushed it on, then wiped with the old towel. Easy peasy.
Then the magic happened. (insert winky face here). I inverted the beverage station base, and plopped it on top of the bucket. Instant table.
I thought about removing the handles, but I like it like this, and it’s pretty easy to move around.
I used Gorilla Glue (affiliate link) to attach the two pieces, and some cookbooks as a “clamp.” I’ll have to let you know how it holds.
Clearly, I’m a little fickle when it comes to my eating habits.
Here’s our new table on the front porch, a spot where we spend many summer evenings!
I can’t wait to relax here with a glass of wine.
Like this project? I’d love it if you’d share! Here’s a pinnable image just for you. :)
