My crazy DIY patio table project is complete and ready for summer nights enjoying yummy food, good company, and s’mores.
If you missed it, get the background info., learn from my mistakes, and see a few sneak peek shots here.
Just to refresh our memories, here’s the before shot. We have your basic, big box store metal patio table with ceramic tile inserts. I’m pretty sure it came from Meijer.
The “crazy idea” part started when I decided I it would be really cool to replace those tiles with wood.
Well…I like the combo of wood and metal. And I thought it would warm up the patio. So I went for it.
The wood “tile” is made from half inch Purebond plywood, which is really nice stuff. (and no, they didn’t pay me to say that)
The plywood was sanded smooth and then stained with Behr Semi-Transparent Weatherproofer Stain and Sealer in one. The color is called “Chocolate.” I thought that would go well with s’mores. I brushed on two coats to get this dark color.
We’re ready for summer parties!
I took a lot of pictures. :)
Now I have to spruce up the rest of the patio so it does this table justice. Ahh, the downside of DIY. ;)
Thank you so much for visiting today!
