Hi friends!! How’s it going?
I’m great, the weather here is FANTASTIC; warm and sunny during the day and cool in the evenings.
It kind feels like Fall. But you didn’t hear me say that.
Let’s talk bar carts, shall we? I heart bar carts.
But I don’t actually have a bar cart. And I don’t want to buy one. So…
I do have this. It’s not actually a cart, but it was free. These shelves were once used in the hospital I work in, and when the decor changed, I snagged them.
I decided to turn these shelves in to bar storage for our dining room. You know, cuz there are no wheels.
I loved the copper of the shelves, but not so much the black frame. And since I already have this crazy tarnished copper look chandelier…
I decided to replicate that look.
First I researched a little to find some images of tarnished copper. (didn’t think of that with the chandy.)
I used Vintage Copper spray paint for the frame, then used some more Riviera from Maison Blanche and wiped it on the shelves for a tarnished look.
I love the new color. Even if it doesn’t totally look like the real tarnished copper. ;)
Styling has proven to be a challenge. We’ll keep our wine glasses and beer steins here, as well as some cute chalkboard labels for drinks and snacks.
It will be fun to set up a self serve bar for parties. And I need a place to keep my trash to treasure cake plates.
Hmm…I’ll keep working on it.
