I just got home from a twelve hour shift in the ER, and I decided to bust my butt to get this Trash to Treasure Tuesday post out while it’s still Tuesday.
I’m not going to make it. It’s 11:58pm. I had to eat some Honey Nut Cheerios first, they were calling my name.
Anywhoo, this trash to treasure makeover was one I completed during my “I quit blogging and now I’m miserable” phase. So glad that’s over.
Once upon a time, I bought one of those cheap wood bar stools at a garage sale. Kind of like these, but with curvy legs.
Then…I was gifted TWO MORE. How cool is that?
They didn’t fit my style, so I decided to change them up with some metallic spray paint, and add a little detail to the seats, creating faux embossed metal bar stools.
My idea was to give the seats an “embossed” look, with a number on each stool that looked like it was part of the metal. Hmmm…
I cut out No. 1, No. 2, and No.3 out of vinyl with my Silhouette (you could use scissors or a craft knife instead, or buy precut vinyl) and placed one number on each seat BEFORE I painted them.
A coat of metallic spray paint OVER the stool AND the vinyl completed the look. Here’s a first look from the front.
I moved the stools outside for better light. I really don’t want to know what my neighbors think of me. Especially when I’m standing on a chair taking photos of empty stools…
It was really difficult to get a good shot of the numbers on the seats, but I think you can see the No. 2 on this one. They are much more prominent in person.
Here’s a shot of the No. 1 that is pinnable. I’d love it if you’d share!
Thank you SO MUCH for visiting! I’m going to bed now! :)
