Today is Themed Furniture Makeover Day, still one of my favorite days of each month, and I have a pretty painted dresser to share.
This month’s theme is FRENCH.
If you’ve hung around here for very long, you know that French decor isn’t my style, so I thought long and hard about my interpretation of this month’s theme.
Here’s where I started, with this waterfall dresser that had seen better days. The veneer was badly in need of repair in several spots, but the drawers were in pretty good shape.
Thank goodness for engineers and their problem solving abilities; the chipped veneer was repaired and ready for paint.
I decided to very loosely interpret the French theme, and paint the dresser “shell” with ASCP in French Linen.
Yep. That’s it. My interpretation of a French theme is to choose a beautiful paint color with French in the name. Don’t judge. ;)
The drawers were wiped down with Restore A Finish in Walnut (an affiliate link for your convenience), just to revive them a bit. I love this stuff. You just wipe it on over the existing finish; it adds richness that may have worn off over time, and fills in scratches.
And that’s it! A sort of French dresser with a very French paint color. This piece sold at the show this past weekend, so she already has a new home.
Thank you so much for visiting! Be sure to check out all of the other, certainly more French than mine, makeovers!
