Favorite Things Gift Guide

Hello my sweet Reinvented friends!

How was your Thanksgiving?  Ours was great, full of food and family.  And I do mean FULL.  I felt like a 7 day fast was in order when I finished eating.  ;)

Have you started shopping?  Tell me, are you an early shopper that’s done by Halloween, or a die hard “I’m not shopping until after Thanksgiving” type?

I would LOVE to be the done by Halloween type, but due to my professional grade procrastinator skills, I always end up in a last minute  rush.  I did get some gift purchased yesterday, during a fun day with my girls, and plan to do most of the rest from my couch.

Which brings me to this post.   (man, I am so good at segues, I should do radio, don’t ya think?)  ;)

Favorite Things Gift Guide From Reinvented

I am REALLY excited to share with you some of my favorite things in a gift guide.  These are items that I use and HIGHLY recommend.  (there are affiliate links in this post for your convenience.)

Got your Christmas shopping jammies on?  Coffee, tea, or Diet Coke?  Let’s go!

You guys, this vacuum.  Our crazy expensive Dyson died an ugly death a few weeks ago and after reading oodles of reviews, I decided to try a Shark Navigator Lift Away Professional.

And…I vacuum for fun now.  This thing SUCKS, and I mean that as the highest compliment.  The amount of dog hair and dust sucked out of our family room carpet is embarrassing.  It’s light weight, easy to “lift away” for steps and high or low spots, and it has a vacuum/dust mop attachment perfect for hard floors.  Simply amazing.

My Kitchen Aid mixer is definitely one of my most used appliances, second to that beast above.  I’ve had it for years, and it performs every. single. time.  Mine is cobalt blue.  (don’t tell the engineer, but sometimes I wish it was red :))

You probably already know this, but today is Small Business Saturday.  I LOVE supporting small businesses, and this next goodie is a perfect way to do that.  One of my favorite blogging duos, from The Handmade Home, created this amazing set of books full of tear away art prints from talented artists.  If you’re like me and need some sort of inspiration piece or starting point for a room design, this art is perfect.  Tear out a page, slip it in a frame; then pull all of your room colors from that image, and style the room around it.  There are three choices:

Art for the Eclectic Home (I have this one, so cool)

Art for the Traditional Home (I want this one next!)

Art for the Contemporary Home (Beautiful!)

If you are a blogger, or if you know and love one, you/they NEED this next item.  I could not recommend Kirsten Thompson’s e-book, Inbox of Opportunity, more highly.  Before I bought this amazing book, I had a Mailchimp account to send out e-mails of my posts to my wonderful subscribers, but that was it.  I had no idea how to use Mailchimp to it’s fullest potential.  Inbox of Opportunity will get you there.   Increase your number of subscribers, start a newsletter and maximize its benefits to your business, and make it all pretty too.  AND it’s ON SALE!  Get $10 off from now through Monday, November 30.

If you need more reasons to buy this book, here are a few more from Kirsten herself.

You all know my love for galvanized metal.  Heck, I even figured out a way to “faux it’ with paint!  I recently bought DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts, from another blogger, Laura Putnam, and I’m loving it so far.  I plan to complete as many of Laura’s creative projects as possible and share them with you here.  Maybe January will be “galvanized metal month”?  Hmmm…I like that idea.

Last but not least, let’s talk favorite DIY tools for just a sec, ok?  There are a couple of new to me products that I’ve tried this year that I highly recommend.

This Homeright Finish Max Paint Sprayer is a new obsession.  I’ve just painted one sweet rocking chair with it so far, but it will be a definite game changer next spring.  Big. time.

I used to HATE sanding, and would sweet talk the engineer in to doing it for me, but this baby has changed that.  I love the finish I can get on any piece with the Ryobi ONE+ Corner Cat Finish Sander, and the interchangeable battery is awesome.  One battery fits the sander, my Ryobi Airstrike Cordless Brad Nailer, and a slew of other tools I have on my Christmas list.

There you have it, my friends!  Gifts for the domestic goddess in your life, your decorating obsessed best friend, the blogger you love but don’t understand, ;), and the tool lover.  Happy shopping!!
