Hello my sweet friends!
Welcome to the Reinvented Christmas Home Tour, Part 2, the dining room! I am submitting my home tours to Jennifer Rizzo for a chance to be a part of her Holiday Housewalk 2016.
AND, I am thrilled to be sharing our festive and easy Christmas dining room decor today as part of the Bringing Christmas Home room by room blog hop.
When I first signed on for this fun hop, and heard the theme, “Bringing Christmas Home”, the first thing I thought of was the classic tune, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”
And then I thought about these four, and how even though I’d love to always have them home for Christmas, things will change as they continue to grow. (has anyone thought of a way to stop that yet??)
For as long as mom and dad are the only game in town, I want to make Christmas fun and festive. If you were here for part 1 of our Christmas home tour, you know that I spent some time creating a holiday hang out space for my teens, and their friends.
The dining room is another spot where we’ll eat together, play games, and catch up this season, so I wanted to dress it up without spending a bunch of money.
I started with this centerpiece, starting with a shallow tray and adding both faux and real greens. I highly recommend waiting for great sales and buying the high quality faux greens. They are so realistic. The real stuff came from our boxwoods in the front yard. Last, I just wrapped a “brown paper package tied up with string” for the center, keeping the arrangement low enough for conversation across the table.
Every day dishes become festive with galvanized metal chargers, cloth napkins, and a mix of patterns or colors.
A simple evergreen wreath is my favorite inexpensive touch for every room. I love to hang an ornament in the middle.
The runner is from the Pottery Barn of Christmas past.
Even the antique desk in the corner got a touch of the holiday.
I know that these decorations aren’t the reason that my kids will have fond Christmas memories, but they do make us happy. Well…they make the girls and me happy. ;)
Thank you so much for visiting Reinvented for Bringing Christmas Home and our festive and easy dining room decor!
