Five Minute Friday, Painted Hardware

Hello my friends, Happy Friday!  Welcome to Five Minute Friday, where the decorating ideas and quick and easy.  Today I’m excited to share a quick update to our powder room vanity; painted hardware.

Here’s a before shot of our vanity.  All of the cabinets in our house are this cherry color.  Not what I would choose, but nice.

This is the original hardware.  Pretty and inexpensive, but ready for an update.  (I needed an outside shot for good light, so I stuck them in an evergreen.  :))

First, I cleaned the cabinet.  I know that cleaning isn’t decorating, but sometimes I get the same satisfaction , you know?  ;)

To makeover the hardware, I quickly sprayed on a light coat of hammered metal spray paint.  (it turns out the evergreen was the perfect “hardware holder” for this quick coat)

When that dried, I painted the knobs with Rustoleum’s Heirloom White.  Finally, I lightly sanded the knobs to show a bit of the hammered metal finish.

These traditional style cabinets are a little more my taste with the “new” hardware.

This update required way less than five minutes of painting time, with about an hour of drying time, but I’m not counting the drying.  :)
