My February Goals and A Giveaway!

Hello friends!  Happy Monday, and welcome to a brand new week.  Is that how you feel on Mondays too?  I actually do, but by Wednesday, I’m kind of “over it” and ready for the weekend.  ;)  If you remember, at the beginning of January, I was excited about a new year stretched out all clean and full of potential.   I posted about my  goals for January, and hoped and prayed that I would have the self discipline to work steadily toward success.

Cuz I haven’t in the past.  ;)

February Goals

(check out our faux shiplap wall here!)

Thanks to my friend Kirsten Thompson, of Sweet Tea & Saving Grace, and her Blogging With Intention Series, I learned how to write goals that I could actually achieve.

Let’s see how I did, shall we?

JANUARY GOAL #1–Create editorial calendar with scheduled posts for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.  For the month of January, include a Let’s Get To Know Each Other post weekly.

Result:  Success!!  Except for Sundays, because, unfortunately the link party I had joined as co-host is no longer.  (insert sad face here)  I have posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (check out Five Minute Fridays!) for the month of January, and each Monday was a Let’s Get To Know Each Other post.

JANUARY GOAL #2–Finish reading Building A Framework, by Abby Lawson, watch the tutorials and interviews, and either implement recommendations, or schedule their implementation for a date before February 29.

Result:  Success!!  I finished Abby’s book, and have implemented MOST of her amazingly helpful strategies.  Building A Framework closes with Abby’s expertise related to product development (I have an idea!) and e-mail marketing (stay tuned for a minute to hear more about that).

****BEST NEWS EVERY RELATED TO GOAL #2–Abby has graciously agreed to give away a copy of her amazing e-book, Building A Framework, to one Reinvented reader!!  If you are a blogger, I promise you that you need this book.  If you would like to be a blogger…same.  :)  Just leave a comment on this post to enter.****

JANUARY GOAL #3–Create and post reader surveys for both Reinvented and RoadKill Rescue.

Result:  Success!!  Thank you so much to those who participated, your feedback was invaluable.  BTW, the winner of the $25 Amazon gift card is Karen.  If your name is Karen, please check your e-mail inbox! :))

I’m actually kind of amazed that the simple act of writing down my goals was so instrumental in maintaining focus and making progress.

So…what are my goals for February?

February Blog Goals 2

  1.  Finish reading Kirsten’s book, Inbox of Opportunity.
  2. Using Kirsten’s book, create my newsletter, and send out the first edition.
  3. Create Pinterest strategy for new posts and implement.

There we go, folks.  Thank you so much for reading!   I’m so excited!!

Don’t forget to comment on this post to enter to win a copy of Abby Lawson’s book, Building A Framework!

  1. I have been thinking about starting a blog for months now, I have so much to say, I have been around the world with a military husband, have 2 sons and work in the healthcare arena. I would also like to talk about adoption, which I am. I don’t think we talk enough about that subject. Would love to own the book.

  2. Congrats on all your goals! I actually read to sample of Abby’s book and was thinking about buying it, so it would be awesome to win it! I cannot wait to see your first newsletter…that is also one of my goals as well. I am also trying to figure out a Pinterest strategy so I am looking forward to what you do!!!

  3. Glad to hear the SMART goal setting is working. I would love to hear more about blogging and am interested in the book.

  4. One of my goals in the first quarter of 2016 is to start a blog. I have had the idea for over a year now. This would be hugely helpful.
