Hi everyone! I hope that you are well, and enjoying some warm weather this week. Isn’t it amazing what a little sunshine and warm air can do for the soul? Sunshine makes my soul a little more colorful, I think. As much as I love my mostly neutral charcoal and creamy white decor, spring inspires me to add some tiny pops of color. Today I thought I’d share my five most irresistible paint colors for spring decorating.

Spring is all about pastels, and I love them as much as the next girl. In small doses. A touch of lavendar, aqua, or a soft green brings a certain freshness to a room that has been dark and cozy all winter long.
How do I incorporate those soft pastels in to a modern farmhouse style? One of my favorite ways is to dry brush just a little color on a stained piece, like a basket or frame.
Another is to paint a piece with a chalky style paint and distress it well. This adds a rustic quality that tones down the sweetness of the color.
My favorite colors this year?
Since I’m partial to a chalky flat finish, I have tried a few brands, and I have found that Martha Stewart Vintage Decor Paint goes on beautifully, and finishes well, for a great price.
My favorite colors are:
And Spring Lilac.
Aren’t they beautiful?
