March Goals And Giveaway Winners

Happy Monday my sweet friends!  It is 61 degrees here today, the windows are open, my house is reasonably clean (at least the parts I can see right now ;)), and I am in a fantastic mood.  In fact that mood is one of the reasons why I’m just now sitting down to write my February goals recap and March goals reveal.

March Goals on Reinvented

(check out the rest of my early spring mantel here)

You see, it’s entirely probable that my sunny mood will cloudy up just a little as I write this.  You know what’s coming…I didn’t rock every one of my goals in February.  And since I’m a pathological perfectionist, that fact is really bothering me.

I even had a moment where I thought that as long as I finished February by today, when my Blog With Intention goals post is due, I’d be good.

But I didn’t do that either.

Here’s the thing…

February Goal #1–Finish reading Kirsten Thompson’s book, Inbox of Opportunity:  Well…I’m almost done.  I am planning to do my best to finish it before 3pm today when I have a Google Hangout with Kirsten and other members of a brand new mastermind group I have joined related to e-mail marketing.  So I didn’t finish the book, but I will, I promise, and this mastermind group is going to be AMAZING.

February Goal #2–Using Kirsten’s book, create a newsletter, and send out the first edition:  Huge, fall on my face fail.  I haven’t even started a newsletter.  I’m not sure how I want to format it, or what content to include so that you guys will LOVE it, and I’m pretty sure I just need someone to tell me what to do.  ;)  (insert Kirsten’s mastermind group here).

BTW:  Thank you so much to those of you that have signed up for the monthly newsletter, tentatively titled, The Reinvented Review.  I promise I won’t let you down!

February Goal #3–Create Pinterest strategy for new posts and implement:  I didn’t do it.  Pinterest changed their “smart feed” and I freaked out and became paralyzed with fear.  Good grief, I’m pathetic, huh?  I have been reading all I can from Pinterest experts (if you’re in the same boat, visit Simple Pin Media, Kate is awsome and has lots of free content, as well as paid services) to learn all there is to know about mastering Pinterest now.

Alrighty then, that was underwhelming, wasn’t it?  What’s the best thing to do when you don’t exactly accomplish what you set out to do?

Regroup and MOVE ON, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Here we go:

March Goal #1–Create and send my first monthly newsletter by March 15.  (Sign up HERE!)

March Goal #2–Complete the Simple Pin Media Master Course and implement recommended strategies to maximize my presence on Pinterest.  (Follow me HERE!)

March Goal #3–Leave room for some creativity (Kirsten’s great advice), and maybe even a little grace.  :)

Those goals are kind of HUGE, so I’m going to stop there.  I hope that’s ok with you.  ;)

NOW, let’s announce some winners of the giveaways from Reader Appreciation Month in February.

The Nesting Place book winner is Nancy H.!  (Nancy, watch for an e-mail from me)

The Spring Gift Package winner is Cindy Magee!  (Cincy, watch for an e-mail from me too!)

Thank you so much for making it all of the way through this post.  Big spring hugs to all of you.

    1. Thanks Chris! My first goal is always to make Reinvented and RoadKill Rescue fun places to visit, and easy to navigate, as well as educational and inspiring! These others are just a means to that end. :)

  1. Hey Kimm – we love your goals. We too are trying to improve and figure out an opt-in for subscribers. Let us know how it goes. BTW we subscribed to your blog last year and confirmed the subscription but we don’t get any emails from you. Thought you should know :)

    1. Thanks ladies! I just checked my subscriber list in Mailchimp and I don’t see your e-mail. Would you mind trying again? :)

  2. Nice to meet you. Some goals i get and well some I rewrite them every month but don’t get further ahead yet. As for the new Pinterest algorithm I’m loving it so far. Don’t know what changed as I haven’t looked into yet, but engagement for me is up and repins. Have to find out what happened. I’m new to the blogging with Intention with Kirsten but I’m looking forward to getting focused and more productive.

    1. Hi Bonnie, thank you so much for stopping by. And congrats on your success with the new Pinterest algorithm. I am working on optimizing my Pinterest presence. :) Welcome to Blogging With Intention!

  3. I love your blog and your goals! I feel like we are in similar places so I enjoy seeing what you have accomplished. I just sent out my first monthly newsletter, so I know what you are feeling. I am sure it will evolve over time, but I just started with some personal things about me, a recap of my blog posts, and one of my favorite recipes. We all have to start somewhere! I cannot wait to see what you create!
