DIY Modern Hexagon Wall Art

Hello my sweet friends.  Have you ever made a huge decision to change something in your life, and then after you actually commit to the change, you freeze in fear?  I know that changing blog topics up is not really a huge life decision, but it was scary just the same.  :)  And then my mom had a stroke, and my world turned upside down.  she is doing well, thank God, and I’m feeling creative and full of words that must be written again.  Soo…I did a little refresh of our bedroom last week, and created some DIY modern hexagon wall art to add a little modern touch to our room.

I started with this striped canvas, minus the Bible verse.

Inspired by a piece of art I saw on Minted, I wanted to create a hexagon pattern using craft paints I had on hand.  I happened to have a small hexagon box, (that once held an Origami Owl locket), so I traced around it with a pencil over and over until I had a pattern that I liked.

I chose teal, aqua, gold and coral paints.

This is what I ended up with.

I hung it on the wall in the same spot.

Thank you so much for coming by and always encouraging and supporting me.  I {heart} every one of you.

If you love this post, I’d LOVE you even more than I already do if you pinned and shared it!  Thanks!

  1. Missed you so much <3 You always give so much to everyone around you and you are totally entitled to take time for yourself and might I add – it's about time? Whatever you do Kimm, will be done with love and a giving heart, it's who you are. You have a right to change direction. I would love to join you and I'm sure everyone else will too. We might take a detour or fly off in another direction but we will always come back to your beautiful reinvented soul. Hope your mom goes from strength to strength, a stroke must be one of the most awful things (my mom had one when she was only 42). Sending you so much love.

    1. Thank you so much Michelle. Your support and love mean so much to me, and I am grateful. :) My mom is doing great.

  2. Kimm,

Praying for you and your Mom! Strokes can be so scary. I so enjoy reading your blog. Take care of yourself now
