Hey everyone, Happy Tuesday! This is a very special Tuesday; it’s time for our 2nd Trash to Treasure Blog Hop. My blog friends and I are sharing holiday themed trash to treasure projects, and I am so excited to share our reclaimed wood Christmas tree with you.
Trash to Treasure Reclaimed Wood Christmas Tree
Last summer I was gifted a couple of old wooden ladders by a friend. We didn’t really need any ladders, but you know me, I can’t turn down old wood things.
Removing the steps was a little tricky, so the engineer used a pair of pliers to hold the cross wires in place while he turned the fasteners on the vertical braces.
After disassembly, one of the vertical braces became the trunk for our tree, while the steps became the branches. Due to the graduated sizes, the steps were perfect candidates for a Christmas tree, but the engineer cut each off at a 45 degree angle to add more tree shape.
I brushed on some DecoArt white stain (affiliate link) for fun.
I think we’ll decorate this beauty with lights and make her the focal point of our holiday front porch. Do you think she needs ornaments? I’m debating, so I’m all ears for your ideas!
Now check out MORE trash to treasure holiday projects!
