I recently purchased A Touch of Farmhouse Charm, by Liz Fourez, and I am completely smitten with this book. If you (or your mom) love farmhouse style, you’ll be so inspired by the projects Liz shares to help you DIY your way. Projects range from beginner to advanced, so there’s definitely something for everyone.
The Inspired Room: Simple Ways To Love The Home You Have, by Melissa Michaels is the perfect read for those of us that are too old for complicated, and just want homes that are pretty, and pretty organized.
One of my favorites of all time is The Nesting Place: It Doesn’t Have To Be Perfect To Be Beautiful by Myquillyn Smith, aka The Nester. If you want to have a stylish and comfortable home but have no idea where to start, this book is a must read.
I love every one of Sherry and John Petersik’s books, but Young House Love: 243 Ways to Paint, Craft, Update, & Show Your House Some Love is just so full of fun projects, it tops my list. If you love to DIY, this book must be in your library.
For us industrial farmhouse lovers, DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts: 35 Creative Upcycling Ideas For Galvanized Metal, by Laura Putnam, is the encyclopedia (the cool kind, not the old kind) of galvanized metal. Laura is an expert, and we all must gather around and learn.
If you think you notice a pattern here, you’re right. ;) I chose these books because they are full of simple, budget friendly ideas that real people can do that will help those real people create a space they love in the real home they have. I’m pretty sure we can all use that kind of advice.
Have you read any of these books? Are any of them on your Mother’s Day wish list? Did I forget any? Do share!
