Decorated Plates As Wall Art For Under Ten Dollars

Hey hey!  I’m so glad you’re here!  Wow, this has been a crazy week.  Crazy good.  We shared our totally transformed farmhouse style patio table and chairs on Tuesday; my first Waste Not Wednesday Link Party as co-host kicked off last night, and today, I’m thrilled to be joining the ladies of Ten On The 10th with a fun decorated plates wall art idea.

Add some easy spring and summer decor to your walls with decorated plates. This easy craft costs under ten dollars and takes less than 10 minutes.

So I have a couple of plate gallery walls in our home; one in the dining room and one in the kitchen.  I love hanging plates on the wall as art, especially those with simple shapes and neutral colors; but in the spring and summer I crave just a tiny bit of color.   This year I thought I’d add some fresh spring hues to the plates.

One trip to the craft store and less than ten dollars later, I had the perfect solution; stickers.  (find the stickers I used here)

I took a few plates right off the wall to decorate.

I placed the stickers where I wanted them, and…

I also bought these butterfly stickers to create some specimen art, plate style.

The stickers have a tiny sticky spot on the back, so they can be “bent” a little to appear 3D, and are easy to remove when the season changes again.  Maybe I’ll look for pumpkin stickers next?

Do you hang plates on your walls?  What is your favorite atypical “art”?

If you love decorated plates wall art, please pin and share!  We appreciate your support!

I hope you’ll be back on the 10th of every month for another fun under $10 idea.

  1. Hi Kimm, we’re so glad you joined our group! I love your decorated plated, and I think you may be onto something with the pumpkin stickers! I have some bare plates in my kitchen right now so I will head down that sticker aisle soon!

  2. Kimm, I love this idea! It’s a little bit amazing what art can be created using the gorgeous stickers that are available now. I’m always game for plates on the wall and you’ve really dressed these up. Love!!

  3. So pretty! I never thought of hanging plates on my wall before but your post just gave me the idea and I’ll surely try it out! Maybe I’ll put some fruit decorations on them…

    1. That would be so cute Kinsley! Make sure you use secure hangers, I’ve lost a few plates because I tried to use hangers that wouldn’t show in the front. The hangers with springs and hooks that stretch and hook on to your plates are the most secure. Have fun!

    1. Thanks Angie! I love the details on the stickers, it’s amazing what beautiful things you can find in the craft store these days! :)

  4. This is a fun easy way to make a one of a kind item. The new paper products available now come in such a wide array of pretty, there sure be one for any decor style. Fun and fast craft idea, thanks for sharing.
